We meet in a secret location - an elegant Haussmann apartment that could be an art space itself, full of art objects, books and stylish decor.
There we will start with a breakfast and a lecture that will introduce you a phenomenon of contemporary galleries.
You will find out when, where and how they emerged, how they function, what are the types and how they differ by strategies and models; how do the gallerists interact with the clients and what are the principals of gallery-artist partnerships; how has the art business changed over the last 50 years and which gallery is the most influential in the world nowadays.
Before heading to Avenue Matignon you will learn why did a French press call this chic area “the new Eldorado” and how did it become home to the most prestigious galleries of Paris.
